Days 21 & 22, Bike & Glass

Well, I made it 20 days without forgetting, and on Day 21, I forgot. Oh well. I'm thankful that you all probably don't care that I forgot. =-D Here's Day 21's thankfulness:

I'm thankful for this fantastic bike each and every time I swing my leg over it. I'm thankful that on a super tight budget, I was able to scrimp and save, and then God blessed me with an amazing price cut so I could purchase a bike far better than I thought I could! I'm so thankful for God's unexpected gifts.

On Day 22, I'm thankful for colored glass. I love colored glass. I've always been in awe of light streaming through glass, and colored glass, in particular. I love stained glass, beautiful antique colored glass, glass tableware, Tiffany lamps, vases, the list goes on. Over all other colors, I love green(it's my favorite color) antique glass, followed by turquoise(though I don't own any turquoise, b/c it's rarer and more expensive).

My brother and his wife gave me these blue crystal juice glasses years ago. They come from a Russian city(known for its crystal work) where I did a VBS in 2005. Best present they've ever given me. These glasses have traveled from Russia to the US to Ukraine and back. The green candle holders were my Grandmother Jamerson's.
My 2nd stained glass purchase, bought for my first little house post-college. It combines both my love of stained glass and of quilting.
This was my first green glass purchase. It's not actually green glass, but rather, is painted glass. I didn't know about painted glass at the time of the purchase, though, and am still fond of this one, since it's my first. Now I know to look for the real stuff, and have several other lovely pieces.
And lastly, one of my all time favorites, a stained glass turtle lamp! This was my first stained glass purchase, and one I've never regretted. This little guy's quite hefty, all metal and glass, and just lovely when all lit up. I purchased him from an artist on the NC Outer Banks the summer after I graduated from college. Gotta love a stained glass turtle lamp!
