Day 11- Health

No pictures today. Today, on Day 11, I'm SUPER thankful for my health. So many changes have happened in the last year and a half when it comes to my health. I've lost 60 pounds, I changed my diet, my allergies improved dramatically due to the diet change, I got really serious about cycling, and then, added in swimming and running. In preparation for signing up for a Spring Triathlon(I like to plan way ahead-haha), I am now running and cycling on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and cycling on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Today I did all three segments that are necessary for the triathlon- cycle 12.5 miles, run 3.1 miles and swim 750 meters(about 30 laps in a standard pool). I actually did all of that! It kinds of blows my mind to think back to where I was physically a year and a half ago, and what I'm capable of now. My body shows the consequences of the weight that I carried(a stubborn 20 or so pounds that still remains, no matter the amount of exercise I'm doing, and also physical pain in my feet and knees). I don't hurt all the time, and actually, hurt far less now than I did. But I know that the pain is a result of the weight on a frame that never should've carried that weight for so many years. BUT, like I said before, I'm super thankful for the progress that I've made and the health that I have and the changes that have been made. This Saturday I'm running a 5K with friends in support of a dear friend who was in a terrible car accident one year ago, barely survived, and is working really hard to recover from a Traumatic Brain Injury. And man, am I so thankful that I'm able to do this- to have the health to be able to go out and join with other friends in running in support of Lane. Today, I'm thankful for my health.
