Today I Wore A Hoodie

-Today I wore a hoodie and I felt like a slob.
-I didn't leave the apartment, because no self-respecting Eastern European would leave the house dressed like that.
-I have not worn a hoodie for two years. I don't even know why I own one.
-Today I wore a hoodie. And I thought about cultural standards.
-America demands comfort and wears sneakers and sweatpants and hoodies.
-Eastern Europe wears tight clothes and high heels and demands that you always look your best.
-Why do Americans ask me constantly why I wear so many skirts and dresses? Is there something wrong with wanting to look feminine and well put together? And yes, I am very comfortable dressed like that.
-Today I wore a hoodie and you know what? I didn't feel feminine.
-Where does the Eastern European mindset come from of always having to look your best? I suspect it's from when they had very, very little and did their best with what they had.
-They wouldn't have been caught dead in a hoodie then and they still wouldn't.
-Today I wore a hoodie.
-I wonder when sloppy became the societal norm for so much of America? I'm not recommending tight clothing and high heels to all of you. I'm just wondering.
-Today I wore a hoodie and I think that it shall be a very long time before I do so again.

**apologies to any hoodie wearers I might have offended. These are just thoughts from someone living in Eastern Europe, processing the differences that I see.

Huh! And, I was thinking about wearing my pretty pink one that I got in CO when it snowed in May and I bought it b/c I was FREEZING! Well, I may reconsider, but I'm still wearing my jeans... and that's to Early Voting. I'm declaring a "casual day"!! Love you!

sorta kinda similiar to the cultural differences between big city/east and small town/west. i dress up in a cute skirt and sweater, dress, nice slacks, etc. on a regular basis and everyone wants to know where i'm going. oh, just to work. haha.
