This week was a week of fun with lots of guests at the apartment. My dear friends and SMTC students from 2009, Vika and Marina, came to spend five days with me. Normally I go to them on the eastern side of Ukraine, but this time they decided to come to me, which was awesome because I'm SOOOO tired of trains! We had a great time of fellowship, with walks to the Black Sea, lots of talking, movie watching- we even went to a Russian drama! I always enjoy planning out the menu for our visits, because they enjoy trying new foods- and most American food is new for them. So we had pumpkin ravioli, chicken chili, spaghetti with garlic bread, chicken, peppers and onions in a white wine and garlic sauce with rice, vegetarian burritos with rice and beans, tuna noodle casserole, and a rather interesting pasta dish composed of multiple leftovers. =-D Their comment at every meal, "As usual, it's not normal food, but very tasty!" haha
Monday night we had over some former interns for dinner and games(one is serving here in Odessa and the other in Uganda) and Wednesday I did a Girl's Tea so that the training center girls could spend time with Vika and Marina and hear about their ministry and ask any questions they might have. It was a great time of fellowship, even though only half of the girls came. Vika and Marina left Thursday and as their train pulled away, I felt the tears beginning to fall. It's hard to tell good friends goodbye, not knowing when I'll see them again. I'm so thankful for our friendship!
We spotted this cat in his unusual perch on our walk down to the Black Sea

Vika always makes me laugh. I'm really going to miss those girls!

Good blog, Honey! Great pics, too. I know it is hard as you are wrapping up your time in Ukraine and are unsure of your next base of operations. We love you and are praying!
