Every month Chris and Siegfried(my hosts in Austria) go to Hungary, which is only an hour away. Things are much cheaper there than in Austria, so they go there to do a lot of their shopping. They asked if I wanted to go along, and of course, I jumped right on that chance! I was really disappointed that I didn't get any new stamps in my passport from Austria and Hungary, because of the open borders relationship between EU countries. We went to the small city of Sopron(pronounced Show-pron) and while Chris was getting her hair done, Siegfried gave me a quick tour of the old town center.

A pestilence statue in the square. You'll see these all over Europe. They were put up after one of the great plagues and are supposed to help ward off the return of any serious sicknesses.
