6/8- Birthday in Vienna

Tuesday, June 8th, I made attempt #2 to spend the day in Vienna. This time, I successfully made it there and back without losing anything. It also happened to be my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a nicer day. Quite honestly, I didn't care if I saw much of Vienna, but just wanted to enjoy the day. I didn't see a lot, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I did see. I really love cathedrals, so I basically just walked around looking at old buildings and cathedrals. The following pictures are just a few of the places that I went:

Making sure that my priorities were in the right place, I started the day at................

Starbucks! That's right. After 10 and a half months, I was able to once again enjoy a tasty iced tall caramel mocha. ahhhhh

The massively huge St. Stephen's

St. Peter's was the highlight of my day. As I walked around the corner, I saw a sign saying that there would be a free organ concert that afternoon. I realized that it had just started and went in and was able to hear the entire concert. There's nothing quite like sitting in a beautiful, old cathedral listening to and feeling the reverberating splendor of the pipe organ. It was a wonderful birthday surprise.

Walking back to the main square

Saying goodbye to Starbucks. I considered getting another drink simply because I could, but refrained.

The beautiful Vienna Opera House, considered the most beautiful Opera House in all of Europe. Odessa is ranked #2.

Back in Baden-Chinese dinner with my most fabulous hosts, Chris and Siegfried. Seriously, it was one of the nicest birthdays I can remember. They made it so special for me, with gifts and singing, dinner and basically celebrating more the next day. It was a really lovely day.
