Weekend Wanderings

Laura and Me

One of my former Odessa roommates has spent the last school year at a Russian language institute in Columbia, SC, and as a result I've gotten to see her a couple of times. She drove up to Charlotte after class on Friday and stayed for the evening and most of Saturday. It was so great to have time with her to talk, catch up on things, and show her around this great, pedestrian friendly neighborhood. When we were in Odessa I had talked about the little Serbian coffee shop/bakery that I missed so much, and it was fun to get a note saying, "Hey, let's make sure we go to Nova's, ok?" She's planning on heading back to Odessa(where she worked with orphans)this summer and I'm so proud of her for the hard work and time that she's put into learning the Russian language. Laura, your cheering section is so excited to see how God's going to bless you for investing this time in being able to reach people at a deeper level through language!

It was good for me to see Laura, too. It is wonderful to see the bond God has established between you two. Good friends are precious treasures!
