Sat. Evening Post, 6/4

Weather of the week: hot. Mid 80's for a high. I know, you're thinking, "That's not hot." Well, when there's no AC and you're riding a crowded bus with 40 other people, it feels pretty warm. I'm really enjoying the cooler evenings, though.

Activities of the week: There are a couple of World Race teams in town right now and I've spent pretty much the whole week, all day, every day with them: from giving them the tour of the center; to going to the train station twice to buy tickets for two different locations in the country and then their tickets from here to Bucharest; taking them and the other team on a tour of a monestary and the 411 Battery(WW2 Park); dinner and games at my apartment; back in to the center today after English Club in an unsuccessful attempt to buy ballet tickets for later in the month(we went too early), followed by dinner and a movie, and various other things throughout the week. It ended up being a rather unexpectedly eventful week, but one that I've greatly enjoyed. I greatly enjoyed the fellowship with last year's team and this team has also been a joy to spend time with.

With the team at the 411 Battery. The train car says, "Glory to the heroes of the defense of the city of Odessa."

Live music and dancing in the city park in the center

One of the girls, Samara, found this older gentleman in a snazzy gold suit with matching hat and shoes and asked him to dance. =-D

I love the music and dancing in the city center! You know that young lady made that older man's day!

And, 80 does sound like a lovely temp! But, we had 91 and low humidity yesterday for all the grad activities and it was WONDERFUL! Very nice time at he Stephens - great food and fellowship! And, more of the same at the church for Timothy Hearn and Helen Darden. A very nice day in all ways!

It is a lovely temp when you're not walking in it and riding buses without enough windows, that are packed full of people. Mid 80's on its own it quite nice, but it's probably 10 degrees hotter than that on the buses and very stuffy. Not so nice.
