Monday Monday

Ok, I know I said I wasn't posting again for two weeks, but well, I changed my mind. These are all pictures from today.

Back to school. And back to first grade, to be exact. Will and Phyllis have been challenging me to read more- in Russian, that is. And in particular, they've wanted me to read a Russian detective series. But it's just too dang hard for me. So as I was walking by a book store today, I veered off and went inside. I decided to check out the books that are used in elementary school here. I thought for sure that I would be at least in third grade. But no, sadly, they appear to be rather advanced here with their reading and so I ended up with a first grade reader. And we're not talking, "See Jane run" here. This is hard stuff!! The lady at the counter wanted to know what I was laughing about and I explained that I was a foreigner and needed to read more and that it was kind of funny to me that I had to buy a first grade book. She was very kind and told me it wasn't funny at all and that it was pretty advanced. haha

The mug shot. I went today to get passport pictures for my visa application.

Love, Love, Love these pictures. I was so startled by this dog poking his head out of this "doghouse". The next picture will show you why I was startled.

This is in the market! Someone had built him a little space in the back of one of the shops. Isn't this great??

Love these pictures!! The little old couple is so sweet! And, the dog is priceless! Only in a place like Ukraine would someone do something that kind... I am about to FedEx Georgie to you and he can live there with a new friend!! He thinks he CANNOT stay outside and is eating the porch door! I have given up and he is now on the porch all the time! (Even that is not REALLY satisfactory, though!!) I am afraid he is like his Grandma and HATES Summer!! Love you and praying for your travels and visa process!

Well, why are you lockign the porch door? I've never understood that in the first place? Why is it so important to lock him off the porch? All he does is lay around.
