Once again, I took this past week as a time of quietness and stayed home much of the week. That turned out to be a good plan, since Charlotte once again got a Winter storm and quite a few more inches of snow. The snow was great, but the ice was even more amazing. There was close to an inch of ice on every exposed surface and the largest icicles I've ever seen hanging off of our house here(not the largest I've seen, but the largest I've seen here). It was quite beautiful but left everyone holed up inside for at least a couple of days. There's still some out there, but only in shady areas.
Conversations of the week: I may not have gone anywhere, but I spent a lot of the afternoons on skype or the phone, working on plans for all of my February travels and talking with different students from the Odessa training center. One of them was in the US for two weeks and called me right before returning to Poland, which was a wonderful surprise. I talked to one in Romania and another in Poland and then chatted with three others in Ukraine, Siberia and Poland. I also got to talk with two of the girls from my church in Odessa and catch up with them in a conversation, rather than just on facebook. Modern technology is incredible and I'm so thankful for it!
Games of the Week: Mom and I spent some time while we were stuck inside learning some new games I bought to take back to Odessa with me. Over this last week we've played: Blink, Scrabble Slam, Trivial Pursuit Steal, and Five Crowns. These are all great because they're in card form, which is perfect for taking along with me on trips! Today I found a game that I learned while at the training center in Montana: Pass the Pigs. It's a highly addictive game which I look forward to introducing to as many people as possible.

It was FUN!! I LOVE being stuck inside and playing games in front of a roaring fire!! (Or, at our local bakery/coffee shop, as we did yesterday!)
