*paying your bills involves figuring out for yourself what you owe, then going to several different banks to pay the bills. I asked yesterday how I would know when it was time to pay for internet. The answer? You'll know when it's cut off!
*you get excited to be given Ny-Quil and various other “remedys” to stockpile your medicine cabinet. Ah, the small joys in life.
*the people doing some kind of renovation in the next flat drill all hours of the day and tap, tap, tap in a steady pattern on the wall all day, for days. This seems to be a regular occurance here, as I've heard it going on in friend's flats, as well. What the hey are you doing over there?
*you have digestive system issues and are told that it's probably parasites from the water and to go get some de-worming pills. =-O
*everywhere you look, as far as the eye can see, you are surrounded by communist bloc apartments.
This is the view from my balcony in either direction. These communist bloc apartments were given the nickname "Kruscheby", which is a combination play on words of Kruschev's name(who came up with the brilliant idea of equalizing everyone through this form of housing) and the Russian word for slums, трущоба(trushoba).
