With Nancy and Mike
I met Mike and Nancy two summers ago when I returned to the States for my sister's wedding. I spoke in the service at church that Sunday and afterwards, they approached me. It turns out that they've been on the mission field in several different E. European countries over the last 30 years. They now live in Budapest, Hungary, and Nancy serves with an educational mission that assists missionaries in the overseas education of their children. And amazingly enough, her agency works with my agency and she goes to many of our annual staff conferences. They were in Charlotte that summer visiting family. Though neither of them are native N. Carolinians, somehow much of their family has ended up here and so they spend much of their time here when on furlough. I then saw Nancy the following year at our annual staff conference in Slovakia and she invited me to stay with them if I was ever in Budapest. When it came time to renew my visa I was looking at several different cities that have Ukrainian embassies, and ended up in Budapest because the plane ticket was the cheapest. I stayed with Mike and Nancy for the week and really enjoyed my time with them, and was so happy to see both of them at Staff Conference in Poland this past March. They're back in the States for a couple of months right now, came to church on Sunday, and joined us afterwards for lunch. It's so nice to get to spend time with people connected to IM, but not in the usual places!
After returning from Budapest, I wrote about a hilarious conversation that occurred between me and Mike. To read it, click on the following link: http://annahunsucker.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
