Sun. afternoon post, 3/27

Saturday once again got away from me, so this is a Sunday afternoon post, quickly put together before heading to the train station for Slovakia, and then Romania.

Crazy weather week: it's definitely not Spring here yet, but we had some very pleasant days this past week. And yet right now, it's 34F and snowing.

Fun finds this week:

Cow Tongue

The fresh bread at our store. This is not an unusual find. I just got the order of pictures mixed up. =-)

Spanish pudding in a really cool ceramic cup.

First Spring flowers found at the market

Dog of the Week:

I spotted this one at the market, also. He's pretty cool-like a bear.

Events of the week: I got to spend some time at the orphanage where my roommates serve, doing some translation for an English class. I really, really enjoyed that, because I know several of the kids and have always wanted to go, but it's sometimes tricky for them to bring guests. I met with some of the girls from church, went to a girl's game night, spent all of Friday with one of the girls talking, watching a movie and making "cheesecake"....and then she spent the night, as well. Exhausting, but good.

Travel Schedule: 3/27- leave for Slovakia
3/28- arrive in Kosice, Slovakia to help set up IM staff conf.
4/1-4/3- IM staff conf. in Drienica, Slovakia
4/4-4/6- back in Kosice with three IM missionaries
4/6- leave for Bircii, Romania
4/8-4/9- women's conf. in Bucharest, Romania
4/9-4/12- back to Bircii for Women's Tea, fellowship and some music
classes
4/12 or 13- possibly back to Bucharest for a couple of days
4/15 or 16- back to Odessa?

the dog is so cute! yes it has been "spring" here for a while. supposedly. i think it will start looking and feeling like it to me by may, when mom and dad are here. the warmer days when they come are WONDERFUL, though. :)
