IM staff conference

So, the actual reason that I went to Poland was for the annual IM staff conference. It was really great to meet so many missionaries that we prayed for daily during the four months of training and finally meet in person all of the other interns that I've known for a while on Facebook. =-) Friday through Sunday was the main part of the conference. Our guest speaker was the head of Canada's Family Life Today, Neil Black. He really challenged and encouraged me as he spoke about Fear, Failure and Overwhelming Circumstances and how to take what we see as obstacles and turn those into a Gateway to better serve Him. The speaker for the women's conference was Grace Fox, the author of 'Moving From Fear to Freedom' and also the wife of the head of IM Canada. She also was an encouragement and challenge to me as she talked about 'Divine Encounters: Glimpses of God in Unexpected Places.' I also really enjoyed how much the speakers and their spouses invested time in all of us throughout the entire conference: getting to know us, asking questions, ministering to us, caring for us, etc., etc., etc. The five days in Poronin were like a breath of fresh air to me. God is so good to revive us at times when we really need it. The conference was such a blessing to me in so many ways and I'm so glad that I got to go!

The view out my bedroom window- the Tatra Mountains

Two of my fellow classmates, Annette(serving in Slovakia) and Laura(here in Odessa).

The two Anna Merediths. Anna got to registration before I did and was asked, "What is your middle name?" She replied "Meredith," and they said, "Hmm, we somehow got confused and have two of you down with the same first and middle name." Then I arrived later in the day and they asked me the same question and received the same answer. It turns out that there are indeed two Anna Merediths within the same organization. This is a little unusual, yes?

Yummy Polish potato pancakes with goulash. mmmm
