What kind of life do you want to live?

I'm not exactly sure what I intend this post to be, except something that provokes your thought.

Matt. 9:36-38
"But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples,
'The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'"

If you have only one life to live, what are you choosing to do with it? Truly and honestly, I believe that most Christians are living a static existence; going to work, taking care of your family, going to church, doing just enough service(for other believers)to make you feel good, etc. Life is busy and these things quite easily take up all of your time. But, if you believe that the harvest truly is plentiful, then what are you doing about it?

I have been blown away recently talking to two new believers here that I meet with weekly. Both of these girls have only been saved one year. Both of their families are holiday-only Orthodox "believers." Both of these girls are struggling with how to tell their families more about their faith, when their families are being asked if they have joined a cult and are now fanatics. Both have had to explain baptism to non-believing family members who have only heard of infant sprinkling. Both worry what their families will say when they find out that they give money(tithe) to the church and go out and do street evangelism weekly. One has left her home only a year after believing to attend the missionary training center here in the desire to completely serve God. She feels responsible to be out telling everyone else about the wonderful things that God has done in her life. Both have lost friends since becoming Christians and both worry about losing their passion for God by becoming static Christians.

What a commitment, what a testimony, what passion I see in their young lives. They're diligently seeking to know more of Him; soaking in His Word as quickly as they can and asking question after question. And they're puzzled by the thought that there are thousands and most likely millions of static Christians in this world. They don't understand how the wonderful new life that they have found could ever become "old news" to them. Does the truth of our Redemption change? Does His Sacrifice ever lessen? Does our Eternal Security ever become less secure? Of course not!! Then why, why, why, when we see the multitudes, are we not moved with compassion, knowing that they are weary and scattered, because they don't know the Shepherd, the Life-Giver, the Healer and Redeemer??

You have only one life to live. Do you want it to be a Static life or are you willing to be called a fanatic, as you live a Passionate, Sold-Out Life for the One who gave His life for you??
