A tribute to Nora

The following was posted on facebook today by my friend, Nora. I so appreciated it, that I had to share it with others. Please enjoy and feel free to add to this list:

lose = to no longer have something in your possession; loose = something that is not tight; they're = they are, "they're at the store"; there = a place, "the ball is over there"; their = possessive, "their cat is white"; your = possessive, "your dog bit me"; you're = you are, "you're an idiot"; then = past tense, "back then, students were taught correct grammar", than = a conjunction, "I am older than you"

You yourself used one on Facebook yesterday or some time recently. I was shocked! I assume you were typing fast or tired or something: accept/except.

And the one that I always have to stop and think about is affect/effect.
