Oops, I just realized that I had this post waiting in Drafts to post before I left for Houston, but forgot to post it. I've been feeling crafty this Christmas, and a tad vintagy, so I gathered up all of my brother's old marbles(remember how I said I like colored glass?), and my Polish and Ukrainian eggs along with some of my smaller matryoshki, pulled out my hot glue gun and got to work. Here are some of the results:

Marble wreaths- best idea ever!

Then I made ornaments out of the matryoshki, eggs, and marbles. The idea for the eggs and matryoshki came from the following picture.

I got these six beautiful little ornaments when I was in Odessa in the summer. I really wanted more for Christmas and tried to figure out various ways to get them back to the States, but to no avail. So then I looked around, saw all of the nesting dolls and eggs I already had, and the thought came to me that with some ribbon and hot glue, I could make more myself.
So there you have it: my vintage, German(the stars and carved birds are from a friend who did a semester there), Polish, Ukrainian Christmas tree. =-)
