H-Town
Well, I'm back from a wonderful five days in Houston. There was a hilarious "Winter Storm" while I was there, which ended up being a blessing, since everything got canceled. Let me just say that I now know that there are places that react even crazier to winter weather than NC. The surprise visit was great. Tapley's husband, Matt, knew that I was coming but we hadn't planned anything. That was probably good, though, because there was very little communication back and forth, which led to her being completely surprised. We played a lot of cards, drank a lot of coffee, cooked together, went to Chuy's with friends, church on Sunday, lunch after church with friends, Superbowl party, went to the Holocaust museum, had a picnic at Herman Park, walked through the Japanese Gardens, and just enjoyed being together. The weather overall there was beautiful and I have a large Thankfulness list and lots of outdoors pictures which I'll post over the next couple of days. For now, here are just a few pics of friendship. =-)
We've always enjoyed going to coffee shops to talk and play cards and this time was no different. Even though it was rather chilly and windy, we sat outside in the sun and played cards.
