Those who know me well know that I have a weakness for all things that have to do with the sound of passing gas. Not the real authentic gas that comes from your body, of course. That's just gross and you need to learn how best to control yourself(unless you are a dog & then it is funny). But fake gassy noises? Now that is good humor. Some might be of differing opinions on this matter, but since this is my blog, I shall tell you about my opinion. I think that Whoopie Cushions are one of the best inventions ever. Laughter is good for the soul and the person who invented the Whoopie Cushion should be nominated for the Humanitarian Award, because of all the good he has done for mankind.
Back in late November I received a package from friends at church in Charlotte. Now, let me tell you about my friend, Kristie. She has an excellent sense of humor, just like me. And showing what great taste she has, she sent me a Self-Inflating Whoopie Cushion. Well, Whoopie Cushions are fun, but they're much more fun when other people are around to enjoy them, as well. Christmas Eve, two of the girls that I disciple came over, had dinner and spent the night. I had completely forgotten about the Whoopie Cushion, but one of the girls found it and wanted to know what it was. After all, "Whoopie" isn't one of the words they learn in their English classes here. The demonstration was received with silence at first and then one was brave enough to try it out for herself. Well, that was the start of some serious hilarity. And the next morning, when they opened the stockings that I had made for them, they found two brand new Whoopie Cushions all of their own!
Moral of the story: Always keep extra Whoopie Cushions on hand. You never know what joy you'll bring to someone's life with the gift of fake gas!!
