Glacier National Park........
....or "Glacier Mountain," as Sandra and I were calling it, until we were corrected. Sandra and I once again ventured out today, taking a day trip this time- about 2 1/2 hours northeast of Libby to the West entrance of Glacier National Park. We knew that much of the park would be closed, due to the passes still being covered in snow, but had no idea that the vast majority of it still wouldn't be drivable. Once we got there, we found out that only sixteen miles was open on the western side and the eastern side was too far away for us to do both in one day. So, sixteen miles it was. I was really disappointed at first, but thoroughly enjoyed what we were able to see. Even though it was only sixteen miles, by the time we got out at all of the scenic overlooks, we had been there for almost three hours. The weather was absolutely fabulous again(two days in a row with sunny, warmer temperatures and no rain!) and we had such a wonderful, peaceful time wandering around. And to top the day off, on the way back we stopped to get a true Montana treat.....a Huckleberry Milkshake. yum. (click on the title to see the rest of the album)
